Whenever putting some meat into a dish for a stir fry or a warm salad or similar, a quick marinade can make a world of difference to the flavour of the meat. This takes 5 seconds to do and can also help with retaining the juices of the meat. I’ve used chicken only for demonstration purposes, but you can use whatever meat you like including seafood.
This is very basic and generic with only the addition of salt, pepper, soy sauce and cornflour / corn starch, so I challenge you to create your own combination of herbs and spices.

Hi there good for you living here with a quick video on preparing your conrstarch or corn flour thickening your sauces.
All you need is your cornstarch, some water and a small mixing bowl
Let’s start off by putting our cornstarch into a mixing bowl, it’s about a teaspoon but it’s going to vary depending on how much you are going to thicken and we are going to add just a very little bit of water here. and now using our finger we are going to mix this together until all the lumps have gone and it becomes a consistent milky white liquid.
The reason we do this instead of just putting cornstarch straight into our cooking is so we don’t get lumps in our gravy or sauce.
I just want to show you something a bit extra, this is the mixture that has been left to stand. As you can see it has separated there is the liquid on the top, and the bottom is the thick solid. If we just give it the same mix with your finger you will get it ready to add into your cooking.
